Elko is a small community located approximately fifteen minutes southwest of the Fernie Alpine Ski Area and central to everything else!

Elko, located at the western entrance to the Crowsnest Pass, is central to the Fernie, Whitefish, and Kimberley Ski Areas.  Elko is minutes away from countless snowmobiling areas.

For summer enjoyment, Elko is central to the Fernie, Jaffray, and Cranbrook golf courses.  Elko is minutes away from the Elk and Wigwam rivers.  Both the Elk and Wigwam rivers are flyfishing destination spots.  The Elk River Canyon is a whitewater-rafting destination spot. Elko is just minutes away from Silver Spring Lakes, Lake Koocanusa, and many other less known and secluded local lakes.

If it's wildlife you want to see, this is where you want to be.  This part of BC has been described as the Serengeti of North America.
